Town of Chapel Hill accelerates plans to reopen damaged trails
Last month, the Town of Chapel Hill announced that repairs to trails damaged by Tropical Storm Chantal will move forward much faster than initially planned. This is great news for our community. Following the storm, Shift Chapel Hill-Carrboro advocated for quick-build detours and low-cost solutions to restore safe walking and biking connections while long-term repairs were being developed.
A huge thank you to everyone who shared how these trails are part of your daily lives. Your stories powered our Safe Detours campaign, and our advocacy committee used your input to help the Town identify smart, fast, and affordable fixes that keep Chapel Hill moving safely.
