Shift Chapel Hill-Carrboro 2026 board elections are this month, and YOU should run!

Shift Chapel-Hill Carrboro is advocating, educating, and celebrating to shift our community to active transit options for all. Since launching in May 2025:

  • We used your input to help the Town identify smart, fast, and affordable fixes that keep Chapel Hill moving safely following storm damage. Repair timelines dropped from up to 18 months to just under 6 months 🎉

  • We launched a bike map to share routes and identify missing connections.

  • We got the 2025 town council candidates talking about active transit.

  • We started a calendar of local events related to biking and walking.

  • And we celebrated the joy of biking together at the Community Holiday Parade.

Volunteers power this work. We are so excited about what we have accomplished so far, and so grateful to our fellow active transit advocates for being a part of it. This month, two board terms are ending. Help us do more–run for the Shift Chapel Hill-Carrboro board. Let’s grow our potential for impact!
